To show respect and care for front‑line sanitation workers, Rudong Tianheng hosted a themed event Salute to Our City Beautifiers in the second‑floor conference room on June 18 afternoon.
The event kicked off in a warm and lively atmosphere. Yang Jianyin, General Manager of the company, delivered opening remarks, extending sincere gratitude and festive greetings to sanitation workers who stick to their posts and make contributions year‑round. He noted that sanitation workers are the “beautifiers of the city”. They work tirelessly on the sanitation front lines, polishing the city’s appearance with their sweat.
As a highlight of the day, the zongzi‑making contest drew enthusiastic participation from sanitation workers. Participants were divided into three groups of five, with a five‑minute time limit. Each contestant had to make at least five evenly‑sized, tightly‑wrapped zongzi within the time window. At the host’s signal, contestants got down to work swiftly: folding bamboo leaves, filling glutinous rice and tying cotton strings with deft movements.
Judges from the General Manager’s Office scored performances on‑site. One first‑prize winner, two second‑prize winners and four third‑prize winners were selected. Award recipients beamed as they received gift packs, while other participants also enjoyed the fun of the competition.
While scores were tallied, an interactive quiz blended sanitation know‑how with Dragon‑Boat‑Festival culture. The energetic session livened up the gathering and deepened workers’ knowledge of traditional culture, professional knowledge and workplace safety.
This event allowed sanitation workers to unwind and savour festive joy amid heavy workloads, while strengthening team cohesion and sense of belonging. Going forward, more heart‑warming activities will be rolled out to deliver corporate support, so that our “city beautifiers” can feel the respect and warmth of the community.
