China Tianying Successfully Tops Out the First National Gravity Energy Storage Project

In the picturesque coastal county of Rudong, Jiangsu Province, a 148-meter-tall energy storage tower has emerged, measuring 110 meters in length and 120 meters in width. At 8:18 am on September 26, the main structure of the national demonstration project for gravity energy storage, the Rudong 100MWh Gravity Energy Storage Project, invested and constructed by China Tianying, successfully reached its topping-out milestone, officially commencing the countdown to grid connection.

The scale of the Rudong Gravity Energy Storage Project by China Tianying is 25MW/100MWh. It innovatively utilizes efficient mechanical energy storage technology controlled by artificial intelligence. It converts electricity generated from renewable sources such as wind and solar into potential energy for storage. During peak electricity demand, the gravity block is released from a predetermined height, driving the generator to discharge and converting potential energy into electrical energy. The entire energy conversion process is fully automated and controlled by artificial intelligence algorithms and systems.

China Tianying's gravity energy storage technology can fully integrate resources from the power source side, grid side, and user side, serving multiple purposes such as peak shaving, frequency regulation, and ensuring power system security. On the power source side, the gravity energy storage system can stabilize fluctuations in renewable energy output, absorb surplus electricity, and reduce waste caused by curtailed wind and solar power, thereby improving the quality and stability of wind and solar power integration. On the grid side, the gravity energy storage system optimizes operational strategies based on the load characteristics of the power system and can function as a backup power source for rapid activation during emergency situations, ensuring the power supply security within the region. On the user side, the versatility of gravity energy storage allows flexible integration with various end-use devices, forming an energy internet that enhances both the safety and economics of electricity consumption.

The successful topping-out of China Tianying's 100MWh Rudong Gravity Energy Storage Project undoubtedly marks a significant milestone in the company's "environmental protection + new energy" dual-engine development path. It serves as a strong testament to China Tianying's gravity energy storage technology, manufacturing capabilities for renewable energy equipment, and the prowess in zero-carbon energy technology development.
